Two Carmel Tree Walks will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018. The tour will be led by Dr. Matt Ritter, a beloved botany professor in the Biological Sciences Department at Cal Poly. Admission is free for members, $20 for non-members, with each tour limited to 30 people. To reserve a space, RSVP to treewalk@carmelforest.org.
Dr. Ritter will also be giving a lecture on Friday evening, June 15 at 5 PM at Carmel Women's Club. He will be signing his new book, California Plants: A Guide to Our Iconic Flora. The book is a definitive guide for exploring over 500 species of California plants with photographs, descriptions and natural history stories. Open to the public, light refreshments will be served.
